She finds a dead walker and spreads its blood all over her before finding a door that walkers are banging on from the other side. Lydia gets up at some point during the night, ready to confront her fears. He tells her to leave first thing in the morning. ![]() Beta is completely invested, but he snaps out of it when she goes to pull off his mask. She considers herself braver than everyone else for walking with walkers. She wants to be the one to walk with the walkers. While they disembowel a walker, they come up with their names. Definitely not something you say on the first date. Alpha then tells him that she likes killing with him, which is kind of sweet, yet creepy. When too many start closing in, Beta sweeps in and helps her. While guarding the hall, Alpha kills stray walkers that have come wandering around. Alpha is so proud that she’s ready for that and tells her that if she can’t manage it she’ll be left behind. She says she’s not a baby anymore and doesn’t want to be scared anymore. While Alpha is putting Lydia to bed, Lydia wonders about the pillows on the walls, signifying that they’re in an asylum. Alpha hears Lydia calling and Beta walks off before she can reply to him. He also shares that he likes the sound of the dead, and it’s the only song he likes to listen to. ![]() They get to talking and she discovers how he ended up in the building. Beta and Alpha manage to avoid each other until he approaches her about her humming, telling her not to do it. It is obvious that Alpha hasn’t lost all of her marbles just yet with the way she cares for Lydia. Alpha looks down at her and says, “We’re all monsters now.”īeta even gives them water, and Alpha helps Lydia get blood out of her hair. Lydia, scared, asks if Beta is a monster. He allows them to stay in the building for one night. Instead of his walker mask, he wears a ski mask, which is giving us some serious horror movie vibes. We quickly discover that this is when Alpha met Beta (Ryan Hurst). He lets them stay, but only in the hallway. She tells this stranger that they mean no harm, but one: she doesn’t die easily, and two: he will have to kill Lydia as well because she won’t die and leave her in this world. Thus, begins Alpha’s origin as well as the origin of the Whisperers, the story we’ve been anticipating! AMCĪlpha stands quick and firm to protect Lydia. They barely make it inside, but it doesn’t seem like the danger is over just yet. In terror, Lydia screams and Alpha hurries to the building. Lydia has earmuffs on, so she doesn’t have to hear the screams, but they slip off when a walker brushes her and she hears the woman scream. Among the walkers, Alpha (Samantha Morton) and a young Lydia are blending in with them. Been a while since we’ve seen some serious munching like that. There’s even a really good shot of a walker taking off the woman’s nose. She struggles to get away, even crawls under the car, but she is eaten.
